Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery is the specialty which combines surgical training with dental expertise for the treatment of diseases, injuries, tumors, and deformities of the face and jaws.

The Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery provides diagnosis, surgical treatment and management of oral and maxillofacial surgical problems. This includes a comprehensive array of services relating to conditions of the face, mouth and jaws, including a routine assessment and treatment service for common oral surgical conditions.

Specialist areas of surgery include those for:

Salivary gland disease;

Head and neck malignancy;

Facial deformity;

Facial prosthetics;

Maxillofacial trauma;

Disease of the temporomandibular joints and/or facial pain;

Oral disease.

Joint cleft lip and palate

We offer a multidisciplinary-team-based approach and work closely with consultants in the Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT), Plastic Surgery, Neurosurgery and Clinical Oncology Departments.
