Dr. Mohammad Ali is a Specialist in Hand and Wrist Orthopaedic Surgery at Medcare Orthopaedics & Spine Hospital. He completed his MBBCh followed by an MSc in Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgery from the Faculty of Medicine at Cairo University. He is a member of many scientific organizations including the Emirates Society for Orthopaedic Surgery, the AO Trauma Middle East, the Egyptian Society for Surgery of the Hand and Microsurgery, the Egyptian Arthroscopic Association and the Emirates Hand Surgery Society.

Dr. Ali is an experienced and skilled orthopaedic surgeon specializing in conditions of the hand, arm, wrist and elbow. He is credited with having started Microsurgery training at the National University Hospital in Singapore. He also received a Travelling Fellowship in Arm and Hand service from the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Massachusetts General Hospital, affiliated with the Harvard Medical School, USA. After relocating to the UAE, Dr. Ali worked as an Orthopaedic Surgeon at Rashid Hospital after which he served as faculty at Dubai Academic Health Corporation and Arab Board Orthopaedic and Trauma Residency program.

Dr. Ali’s expertise is evident in the management of polytrauma patients, isolated limb injury patients and complex reconstruction of the upper extremity. He is proficient in hand replantation, finger revascularization and replantation, nerve reconstruction, hand and arm fractures, sports injuries of the arm and hand and free and local flaps in limb reconstruction. During the course of his illustrious career, he has successfully treated patients with conditions like fingertip injury, carpal tunnel syndrome, cubital tunnel syndrome, trigger finger, base-of-thumb arthritis, and crushed and mutilating hand injuries. He treats sprains and fractures of the elbow, forearm, wrist and hand. Besides this, he offers cutting-edge, minimally invasive treatments designed to restore and advance function and mobility in the hand and arm including nerve reconstruction, tendon transfer surgeries and arthroscopic techniques. He also specializes in second opinions, alternatives to surgery and revision surgeries meant to correct failed treatments like malunited distal radius, metal failure, nonunited scaphoid and others. He is also an expert microvascular surgeon, meaning that he can repair delicate hand and arm tissues and bones after a major injury or as part of reconstructive surgery. Dr. Ali has successfully treated hundreds of cases that include nerve repair, revascularization and replantation of amputated parts at different levels in the upper limb. He has helped patients restore lost movement and function by identifying and redeploying healthy tendon tissue during minimally invasive surgery.

Dr. Ali is a well-known and active faculty member of various Regional and International Trauma and Orthopedic conferences.During his leisure hours, he likes to read and keep fit through boxing and cycling. He speaks Arabic and English fluently.
