Dr. Paul Jairaj is a Consultant in the Department of Orthopaedics at Medcare Orthopaedics & Spine Hospital. He completed his MBChB from the University of Birmingham Medical School and holds a double FRCS of the Royal College of Surgeons of England from the Royal Post Graduate Medical School Hammersmith Hospital (FRCS Eng)  and Post Graduate Surgical Training Scheme and Imperial College London Orthopaedic Training Rotation ( FRCS  Tr & Orth). He also has a Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training (CCST) in Orthopaedics.

After this training, he undertook travelling Fellowships at Centers of Excellence across the United States including Harvard Orthopaedic Services Boston and The Hospital for Special Surgery New York, the University of Pittsburgh, the University of Chicago, the Steadman Clinic Vale Colorado, Stone Clinic San Francisco, University of Charlottesville as well as a French Fellowship at the Clinique du Sport in Merignac, Bordeaux. He served as a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon for Hip and Knee in NHS at the Royal Bournemouth & Poole NHS Trust and then as a Consultant Orthopaedic Hip and Knee Surgeon at London Bridge Hospital, both in the UK. Subsequently, he relocated to the UAE.

Dr. Jairaj is one of  UK’s first surgeons to pioneer the use of 3D planned patient-specific prostheses for Hip and Knee replacements which are customised to the individual. He is also one of the only surgeons globally performing all of his hip arthroscopic and femoroacetabular surgery through minicapsular incisions (avoiding capsulotomy). He performs the latest Cartilage repair techniques which are endorsed by the International Cartilage Repair Society. These techniques lead to faster recovery, improved function and better outcomes in his patients.
He has successfully performed meniscus preservation and repair,  anatomic Anterior Cruciate Ligament reconstruction, labral preservation and repair,  mini capsular hip Arthroscopic surgery for femoroacetabular impingement (FAI),  articular cartilage preservation regeneration and repair of hip and knee utilising injectables and/or arthroscopic (keyhole) techniques,  sub chondroplasty procedure to prevent joint replacement and treatment of Osteoarthritis of Hip and Knee with a customised 3D planned patient-specific joint replacements.

 Dr. Jairaj believes in providing a level of care and quality that exceeds the patient’s expectations and his unique offerings include the latest surgical technologies, diagnostic imaging techniques and using a multi-disciplinary approach. He attends multiple national and international conferences every year so that he can give his patients up-to-date advice with tried, tested and proven methods. He offers a gamut of treatments ranging from injectables to the joint or subchondral bone, arthroscopic procedures to preserve or regenerate cartilage, reconstruction procedures for ligaments and for those with severe joint damage, a minimally invasive patient-specific joint.

During his leisure hours, he likes to unwind with a good game of tennis, golf or padel tennis. He also lokes travelling and spending time with his beloved dogs Harry and Luna.
