Every birth is unique. The Gentle Birth Method at Medcare offers personalised physical, emotional and practical support to help you approach childbirth feeling informed, prepared and confident. From pregnancy and birth preparation to labour and the first days of motherhood, our services are shaped around your needs, choices and birth preferences.
Medcare’s Gentle Birth Method and Doula Services combine one-to-one preparation, gentle movement, breathing, relaxation, self-hypnosis, antenatal education and continuous non-clinical support. A doula is a trained, non-medical professional who provides continuous physical, emotional, and informational support to a person before, during, and after childbirth. The programme works alongside your Medcare obstetric and maternity team, complementing your clinical care without replacing it.
The service does not promote one particular type of birth. It prepares and supports you for your individual journey, including vaginal and caesarean birth, even when circumstances or your original birth preferences change.
The Gentle Birth Method is a holistic approach to birth preparation that brings together gentle movement, bodywork, breathing, deep relaxation, self-hypnosis and emotional support. Through personalised sessions and practical classes, expectant mothers develop techniques they can practise throughout pregnancy and use during labour, birth and early recovery.
The programme can help you:
Doula and Gentle Birth Method Practitioner
Priscilla brings warmth, experience and reassurance to every mother she supports. Her approach respects each woman’s individual needs, values and choices, helping mothers and their partners feel heard, informed and supported throughout the journey.
These guided classes combine gentle mobility, pelvic preparation, micro-movement, breathing, deep relaxation and self-hypnosis. Regular practice helps the techniques become familiar, making them easier to draw upon during labour.
Medcare’s antenatal classes provide clear, practical information for every stage of pregnancy, helping mothers and partners make informed choices and prepare for birth and early parenthood.
For the first and second trimesters, covering common pregnancy symptoms, nutrition, movement, stress management, bonding with your baby and practical partner support.
For the third trimester, covering the stages and signs of labour, breathing and comfort techniques, different birth scenarios, postpartum recovery, lactation and the first weeks with your baby.
Classes are available at Medcare Women and Children’s Hospital, Medcare Royal Speciality Hospital and Medcare Hospital Sharjah. Mothers who attend an antenatal education class receive one complimentary hypnobirthing and mobility session.

The package includes up to 12 hours of birth attendance. Additional hours may be arranged at an agreed hourly rate. Any transition in support will be discussed with you.
Because birth cannot be scheduled, a named backup doula supports continuity of care. Your backup is an experienced Medcare doula who will meet you before birth and become familiar with your preferences. She will attend only if your primary doula is unavailable because of another birth, illness or an exceptional circumstance. The package price remains unchanged whether your primary or backup doula attends.
Your postpartum session takes place at your bedside or home during the first days after birth. It provides a supportive space to discuss recovery, feeding, newborn settling and your emotional wellbeing.
Postpartum support may include:
Private sessions are held at Wellth by Medcare. In-hospital arrangements are available for patients based in Sharjah. Antenatal education is available across Medcare Women and Children’s Hospital, Medcare Royal Speciality Hospital and Medcare Hospital Sharjah.
To provide meaningful one-to-one birth support, only a limited number of Complete Doula Packages are accepted for each estimated due-date period. Places are confirmed on a first-come, first-served basis once booking is completed.
Booking before 28 weeks is recommended to secure availability and allow the full five-session programme to be delivered gradually. Later bookings may be considered depending on availability and stage of pregnancy.
Speak to your Medcare obstetrician or contact the Gentle Birth Method team to arrange an introductory conversation with Priscilla and find the support option that is right for you.
