Dr. Caroline Paulson
Dr. Caroline Paulson is a Specialist in the Department of Ophthalmology at Medcare Hospital- Sharjah. She completed her medical degree from the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences and her MS in Ophthalmology from the renowned St Johns Medical College, both situated in Bangalore, India. She is an MRCS from Glasgow (Member of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons).
Dr. Paulson is a member of the Indian Medical Association, the All India Ophthalmological Society, and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons, Glasgow. She also completed a one-year fellowship in anterior segment surgeries from the Ahalia Foundation Eye Hospital in Kerala, Inda. She practiced in India and the UAE at various prestigious hospitals and clinics that include the Zulekha Hospital in Dubai.
Dr. Paulson’s expertise covers the diagnosis and management of various ophthalmological conditions such as cataracts, pterygium, glaucoma, uveitis, dry eyes and allergic conjunctivitis. She has successfully performed phacoemulsification (key-hole surgery) and manual cataract extraction with lens implantation, pterygium excision with conjunctival autograft, chalazion excision and lid tear repair using intravitreal anti-VEGF injections. Besides conducting regular refraction tests and giving glass prescriptions to her patients, she treats neuro-ophthalmologIcal conditions like optic neuritis and medical retinal conditions such as diabetic retinopathy and retinal vein occlusions. She has published interesting cases in journals of international repute and has attended many international conferences.
In her leisure hours, Dr. Paulson likes to unwind by dancing. She speaks many languages that include English, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam and basic Arabic.
