Dr. Abeer Kassem is a Consultant Pulmonologist at Medcare Royal Speciality Hospital. She obtained her MBBCh, MSc in Chest Diseases and MD in Chest Diseases from Alexandria University, Egypt. 
Dr. Kassem began her career as an Assistant Professor in Pulmonology at the Faculty of Medicine, Alexandria University, Egypt. Later, she moved to the UAE, where she first served as a Consultant with Emirates Health Services and then worked at the Sulaiman Al Habib Hospital as a Pulmonary Disease Consultant. She worked briefly at Trellis Hospital before joining Medcare. She gained extensive experience in assessing and managing respiratory disorders, including bronchial asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
With more than two decades of experience diagnosing and managing respiratory and chest diseases, Dr. Kassem has developed great expertise in the field. Her proficiency covers sleep-related breathing disorders, including obstructive sleep apnoea and sleep studies. She has a special interest in managing bronchial asthma, including severe and difficult-to-control asthma, as well as respiratory allergies and allergy-related lung conditions. She treats patients for early detection and evaluation of lung cancer, pleural diseases, smoking-related lung diseases and chronic chest infections, including tuberculosis, pulmonary embolism, interstitial lung diseases and a broad range of acute and chronic respiratory diseases. She performs pulmonary function tests (PFT), spirometry, bronchodilator reversibility testing, polysomnography, lung cancer screening and smoking-related lung disease assessment.
She speaks Arabic and English.
