Dr. Amar Al-Omar is a specialist in sports medicine at Medcare. He completed his MBChB from Iraq and his High Specialisation Degree in Orthopaedics, from Jordanian Board in Orthopaedic Surgery, Jordan, and MRCS from the Royal College of Surgeons, UK. Besides this, he also has an MSc (Orthopaedic engineering) from Cardiff University, UK and FRCS (trauma and orthopaedics) from Royal College of Surgeons, UK.

He is a fellow of Royal College of Surgeons, UK, a member of Royal College of Surgeons, UK and Ireland and member of General Medical Council, UK.

His extensive expertise includes primary and complex primary knee replacement surgery including revision surgery, total hip replacement surgery, conservative and surgical management for fractures of lower and upper extremities, knee replacement surgery, hip replacement surgery, sport injuries, key hole surgery, complex fractures, cartilage regeneration and ligament tears.

Among arthroscopic and minimally invasive procedures, Dr. Al-Omar has conducted knee surgery for anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction and meniscal surgery including repair, shoulder surgery, cartilage regeneration, and ankle surgery with ankle fusion and ligament reconstruction. In his free time, he enjoys swimming and spending time with his family. He speaks Arabic and English fluently.
