Dr. Maryam Mojtabavi is an Infectious Diseases Specialist, currently working at Medcare Royal Speciality Hospital. Dr. Mojtabavi is a board-certified Infectious Diseases Specialist with over two decades of experience in diagnosing and treating complex infectious conditions. She commenced her career as a General Practitioner at the University of Torbat-e-Heydarieh, then completed her Residency in Infectious Diseases at the Mashhad University of Medical Sciences and worked as an Infectious Diseases Specialist at the University of Torbat-e-Heydarieh and Taleghani Trauma Hospital, all in Iran. Later she joined the Omid Oncology Hospital where she was a Member of the Infection Control Committee and garnered invaluable experience in the treatment and prophylaxis of opportunistic infections. She also worked as an Infectious Diseases Specialist at the Velayat Trauma and Vascular Surgery Hospital and co-founded the Rayehe Ordibehesht Polyclinic in Mashhad, Iran. She was briefly self-employed before joining Mehr Hospital and then Musa-Ibn-Jafar Hospital as an Infectious Diseases Specialist. Here she managed infectious complications associated with various surgical procedures and treated hospital-acquired and blood-borne infections in general. She actively participated in continuous education programs for hospital staff, including doctors, nurses, and support personnel. Subsequently, she relocated to the UAE to join Mediverse Polyclinic, Dubai as a Specialist Physician.
Dr. Mojtabavi specialises in identifying and treating illnesses caused by bacteria, viruses, fungi, and parasites that may be difficult to diagnose or that don't respond to standard treatments. She diagnoses and treats conditions such as unexplained fevers and complex infections requiring specialised diagnosis, serious respiratory infections, including pneumonia and tuberculosis, blood infections and sepsis, HIV/AIDS, hepatitis, and other bloodborne diseases, bone and joint infections, recurrent or resistant skin and soft tissue infections, post-surgical and hospital-acquired infections, travel-related and tropical diseases and COVID-19 and its long-term complications. She has successfully treated patients suffering from swollen lymph nodes, sinusitis, abscesses, diabetic foot, burns, gastrointestinal infections, infections of the kidney and bladder, vaginal infections, infections in cancer patients and those with immunity problems.
Dr. Mojtabavi works closely with patients' primary care physicians and other specialists to provide comprehensive care. Her training in Precision Medicine allows her to provide cutting-edge, individualized approaches to infectious disease management. She focuses on appropriate antibiotic use to combat the growing challenge of antimicrobial resistance. She is fluent in English and Persian, with basic knowledge of Arabic.
