Dr. Mohammed Aziz is a Consultant in Otolaryngology at Medcare Medical Centre. He completed his MBChB at the University of Mosul in Iraq. Dr. Aziz has spent almost two decades in the field of Otolaryngology, working across Iraq, Germany and the UAE. He began his medical career as a Resident Doctor Al Salam Teaching Hospital in Mosul, Iraq. Later, he moved to Germany, working as an Intern at the ENT Clinic, University Hospital in Dresden, Germany and then as a Research Assistant while completing his doctoral studies at the TU Dresden Interdisciplinary Centre for Smell and Taste at the University Hospital Dresden with Prof. Dr. Med Hummel. Subsequently, he served as a Resident Doctor in General and Vascular Surgery at Artemed Specialist Clinic in Bad Oeynhausen, Resident Doctor in Vascular Surgery at Porz am Rhein Hospital in Cologne, Resident Doctor in Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery at Helios University Hospital in Wuppertal and Resident Doctor in Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery at St. Johannes Hospital Dortmund, all in Germany. Later, he became Specialist in Otolaryngology- Head and Neck Surgery at St. Johannes Hospital Dortmund, Germany and worked as a Consultant in Otolaryngology -Head and Neck Surgery at Sana Klinikum Remscheid, Germany, before joining Medcare.
Dr. Aziz’s expertise covers the entire gamut of ENT conditions, from the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the ear, nose, throat and paranasal sinuses to conducting flexible nasolaryngoscopy and requesting radiology and laboratory investigations, audiograms and tympanograms. He treats middle and outer ear infections, vertigo, dizziness, hearing loss, ear pain, ear injuries, ear foreign bodies, ear wax, facial paralysis, parotid and submandibular gland diseases, nasal injuries, nasal congestion, rhinitis, seasonal allergies, sinusitis, nasal polyps, deviated nasal septum, nasal bleeding, turbinate hypertrophy, nose foreign bodies, sleep apnoea, tonsillitis, tonsil hypertrophy, adenoid hypertrophy, pharyngitis, laryngitis, swallowing disorders, voice disorders, hoarseness, Eustachian tube dysfunction and balloon dilation. He performs procedures including general otolaryngologic surgeries, ENT endoscopy and laryngeal microsurgery, laryngoscopy, otoscopy, removal of foreign bodies from the nose, ear and throat, adenoidectomy, tonsillectomy, myringotomy and insertion of ventilation tubes, septoplasty, turbinoplasty, functional endoscopic sinus surgery (FESS), epistaxis control, open and closed nasal fracture reduction. He also performs paediatric ENT surgery.
