Prof. Dr. Reinhold Posch-Zimmermann is a German and European Board-Certified Consultant Urologist working at Medcare Royal Speciality Hospital. He completed his Executive MBA in Healthcare Management from the Salzburg Management and Business School (SMBS) and a degree in Medicine from Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich. He is a Fellow of the European Board of Urology (FEBU), has completed Corporate Leadership Training at the Harvard Medical School, is a Certified Robotic Surgeon in Intuitive Da Vinci Xi & CMR Versius robotic systems and an Aeromedical Specialist Examiner (UAE).
With almost three decades of clinical, academic, and leadership experience across Germany, Austria, and the UAE, Prof. Dr. Posch-Zimmermann served as a Vice Chairman of the Department of Urology and Andrology at Paracelsus Medical University Salzburg, Austria. There, he led research activities in neuro-urology, spinal cord injury, bladder regeneration, neuromodulation, and translational urological innovation. He held senior academic and clinical roles in Europe, Austria and Germany. As Director of Urology at American Hospital Dubai, he established and expanded the urology service, developed subspecialty pathways, contributed to satellite clinic growth, and helped increase the department’s clinical and financial performance. He led the first robotic High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) treatment in Dubai using the EDAP Focal One system. He has been ⁠an Assistant Professor of Urology at the University of Sharjah and the Gulf Medical University.
Prof. Dr. Posch-Zimmermann has particular expertise in neuro-urology, sacral neuromodulation, urinary incontinence, pelvic floor disorders, prostate diseases, focal therapy, minimally invasive BPH treatment, endo-urology, stone disease, and andrology. He has long-standing experience in minimally invasive and laparoscopic urological surgery. His academic work includes extensive international publications, invited lectures, and research contributions in sacral neuromodulation, chronic pelvic pain, shockwave therapy, stone disease, prostate therapy, pelvic floor reconstruction, and minimally invasive urology.
In addition to his clinical expertise, he is a dedicated educator, researcher, and mentor, committed to advancing urology through innovation, education, and the adoption of cutting-edge medical technology. He speaks English and German.
